Sony Prepare a Camera as Canon G1 X Competitor

Shocking news came from Sony. Reportedly, the vendor from Japan is preparing to release a compact camera with awesome specs.

Specifications referred is that the camera will have fixed zoom lens and APS-C sensor, the sensor is usually embedded in DSLR type. Judging by its specifications, it looks like Sony put the new camera head to head with Canon G1 X which released by its competitor.

Unlike Sigma DP series, Fuji X100 and Leica X1 which using fixed lens, Canon G1 X equipped with 4x lens zoom. From another speculation, the lenses used in the new Sony camera is compact pancake zoom type of lens.

With this lens, the user may be possible to record video with fairly stable zoom. This lens seems also to be an alternative for users of NEX series lens. Reported by SlashGear, the X G1 competitor will be ready to be released, but for the time it is not certain.
