Canon EOS-1D Mark X, DSLR Camera for Professional Photographers

EOS-1D X is Canon's DSLR camera flagship with full frame CMOS sensor 18 MP. In the previous era, Canon owning EOS-1Ds Mark III with 21 MP sensor that suitable for using in the studio and EOS-1D Mark IV with 16 MP APS-H sensor which preferred by sports photographers because it can take up to 10 fps. Canon seems want to eliminate this dualism, and as the proof EOS-1D X is presented like a union of 1D and 1Ds with full frame sensor, high resolution 18 MP and 12 fps performance.

Sensors used on the EOS-1D X is full frame type with 16 channels, dual line readout is faster than its previous sensor which only using 8 channels, single line readout. So it's no wonder that the EOS-1D X can taking pictures up to 12 fps in RAW format and 14 fps for JPG.

Canon EOS-1D X complement this camera with three processors. The processor in the camera are a pair of DIGIC 5+ and a Digic 4. Two DIGIC 5+ processor is intended to speed up processing while a Digic 4 used in this camera 'only' special to control AF and metering. EOS-1D X also provides six preset to select the AF point those are Spot, Single Point, Double Point with surrounding four points, Single Point with surrounding eight points, Zone selection and Automatic AF point selection.
