Canon IXUS is a series of compact cameras from Canon that prioritize premium design and quality. From the beginning, IXUS is synonymous of expensive compact cameras, now its technology become more mature and resulting better picture quality.

There are several lxus camera series. We will compare the following products:
  • Ixus 115 HS (successor of Ixus 105 IS)
  • Ixus 220 HS (successor of Ixus 210 IS)
  • Ixus 230 HS (successor of Ixus 220 HS)
There are unique things from these third Ixus, the third using CMOS sensor with "only" 12 MP resolution, or dropped from previcious product that reaches 14 MP resolution. This means Canon is aware that a small pocket camera with a sensor should not have imposed very high resolution just to catch the market share.
As the good news, HS technology in CMOS sensor helps to give better light sensitivity than CMOS non HS or conventional CCD sensor.
